Hot water system repairs Terrigal, Central Coast
Case study : Cathy, leaking Rheem hot water heater
Cathy placed an emergency call to our office after finding her hot water heater had ruptured and water leaking everywhere.
After determining what the problem was when Cathy called, we determined that it was very unlikely that her existing hot water tank could be repaired and a new one would need to be installed. We were able to give Cathy a quote over the phone.
Our hot water installer arrived at Cathy's Terrigal home with a new Rheem 80 litre hot water tank in the truck and promptly replaced her old hot water tank. We fitted a new tempering valve to safeguared people from being scalded.
We happily took away Cathy's old hot water tank and she had hot water again within an hour.
Hot water tip : Why is my hot water heater leaking?
Some hot water heaters such as heat pumps and high efficiency gas storage hot water tanks will produce condensation under normal operation conditions. This condensation is drained to the exterior of the tank and you may notice a small wet patch on the surrounding surface. Condensation will be the highest during humid conditions for heat pumps and colder conditions for gas storage heaters. If you are unsure whether the condensation on your tank is normal, we suggest you contact our technical department for advice between 7am - 6pm each day.
If the water leaking from your hot water heater is constant or more than one bucket of water during a 24 hour period, then we suggest you contact us immediately as it is probably a sign of a bigger problem with your system. We offer emergency service, 7 days a week across all Central Coast suburbs. Call 1800 266 999 for fast assistance.
It is important to note that eventually all hot water heaters will fail and require replacing. For storage heaters signs of a problem is usually evident by water leaking from the tank consistently. As a temporary fix until we can ensure your system is running correctly again, and to preserve the hot water in your tank, you can turn off the cold water supply valve on the inlet to the hot water heater in between usage.
Our fully stocked trucks are ready for any problem your hot water heater may have. We carry lots of spare parts, and replacement tanks, to ensure you're not waiting days for replacement parts or a new hot water heater to be delivered. We don't waste your time and money going back and forth to suppliers.
